    How it Works
Finale is absorbed by the green plant tissue of the leaves and stems. Its active ingredient, glufosinate-ammonium, inhibits the activity of glutamine synthetase, an essential plant enzyme in the metabolism of amino acids. As a result, ammonia accumulates in the treated green tissue and photosynthesis ceases, destroying plant tissue. Plant tissue chlorosis develops rapidly followed by complete plant necrosis. Also, the production of glutamine, an essential amino acid, is inhibited. This may contribute to the long-term activity of Finale.

The result is rapid and long-lasting control, as opposed to fast regrowth after the use of "burndown" herbicides, which only destroy the foliage.

Because Finale has no soil-residual activity, transplanting or seeding in treated areas is possible hours after application.

    FAQ
Q: How does Finale compare with other nonselective herbicides?
A: It takes Finale 1 to 4 days—regardless of the temperature—to show results. Finale has rapid and long-lasting control, and no fast regrowth that accompanies typical burndowns. In addition, Finale quickly kills difficult-to-control weeds like poison ivy, dandelion, dollarweed, thistle, clover and many others.

Q: Does Finale “creep” or run like other nonselective herbicides?
A: No. In fact, Finale allows pinpoint edging. You can spray a straight line and be confident it won't become a ragged edge.
